Frequently Asked Questions

What is pickleball?
Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the US. Pickleball is similar to tennis but played on a court about 1/4 the size (so there is a lot less running). You play with a lightweight paddle and ball that resembles a whiffle ball. It is easy for beginners to learn but a challenge to master. Learn more on our page What is Pickleball
What is the cost to play?
Free. There is no charge to play pickleball at the 20th Street Courts. If you don’t have equipment, most likely if you stop by during a time when there is open play, someone will have extra paddles and balls that you can borrow. Be sure to check the upcoming events at 20th Street Courts.
What day(s) / time(s) are best for beginners?
If you would like to learn to play pickleball and some friendly advice from other players, your best bet would be to come any day during open play between (10am-12pm 7 days a week, weather permitting) to the 20th Street Courts.
